The island is small – 35 square miles and offers 1 beach for each square mile.  There is no other Caribbean island offering a ratio of 1:1 when it comes to the island’s size and number of beautiful beaches – this is what makes Anguilla the No. 1 destination in the Caribbean.

The island is shaped like an eel flat and long – no mountains.  Yes, bikers, joggers appreciate Anguilla’s shape as they can walk and ride for hours and not get really tired because there are no hills to climb.  And more people are loving it in Anguilla because the beaches are sparsely populated – making one feel as if he is on his own beach (or island) all day long with so much sun and sand – it’s awesome.

When you think about going down town in most Caribbean Islands, visitors and natives alike think about shopping from store to store all in the same area.  Anguillians build their businesses where they have access to family land therefore business places are found almost anywhere in Anguilla.  And, with no public transportation, this makes it necessary to have a car and perhaps that’s why there is a ratio of 3:1 in relation to cars per household.

Car Rental Companies on Anguilla can definitely survive as there is so much to see and explore on this beautiful island and everything is scattered -   The Heritage Collection Museum is in East End, the Big Spring is in Island Harbour, The Fountain is in Brimigin, and the gift shops too are scattered all over the island.

The Anguilla National Trust offers a wealth of knowledge to visitors with regard to wildlife on the island and conservation and environmental strategies all which help to mold our ecotourism into the product Anguilla has to present to the world at large.  Names of plants on the island can be identified and their uses, the types of bird species known to Anguilla, wet lands visitors from other Caribbean islands and as far afield as Canada – this type of information and data is available at the Anguilla National Trust,

Recently two small shopping complex buildings housing a variety of stores have been built in an effort to centralize access to fashion shoes, clothing, jewellery, and services – just to name a few.  With St. Maarten within such close proximity to Anguilla, some people prefer to hop on the Ferry for a 18 – 20 minute boat ride to shop in St. Maarten as a wider variety of these type of items are available.

Agriculture is like non-existent on Anguilla as the soil does not lend itself to food production.  With help from the Agriculture Department with new strategies and workshops by personnel from neighbouring countries, the urge to plant something in the backyard is multiplying.

There are no factories or distillers on the island resulting in the possibility to breathe in fresh air throughout the island.  There is the occasional burning of a coal keel now and again but visitor’s enjoy the art as it provides local charcoal which makes a tastier barbecue rib, chicken or kebab.

As this limited food production can never meet the satisfaction of the needs of the island, Anguilla depends heavily on imported goods.  At most hotels and restaurants, almost everything needed for food preparation is imported from St. Maarten or other countries.

Anguilla separated from the Federation of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla in December 1987.  It was then when Anguilla voted to return to British Dependency and remained in that category until this day.

All of the seven bedrooms are large (an average of 515 square feet) and overlook the sea. Each room has it’s own private entrance as well as a terrace with a comfortable seating arrangement. Two of the bedrooms have domed ceilings, and they are all air-conditioned with walk in closets. There is a phone in each, as well as a data link for a computer, and cable access for mobile televisions.

 
All of the bedrooms have en-suite European style bathrooms that are large and luxurious with imported marble, deck tubs, and glass enclosed showers. Two of the bathrooms also have private outdoor shower gardens.

 
In addition to the seven bedrooms the 13,000 square feet of living space includes: two living rooms separated by a bar, one indoors with a spectacular vaulted ceiling and mosaics imported from Morocco, the other on a covered terrace with views of the pool and sea below, a dining room that seats 16, a television room that can also convert into an eighth bedroom with it’s own private bath, a powder room, and a gourmet kitchen.

 
The house is equipped with cable TVs (60+channels), DVDs, VCRs, stereo system, and a library of books, movies, CDs and games. We have a computer with high speed internet access for guest use, as well as a fax machine. We can provide secretarial services if needed.

 
Set within the landscaped exterior is a tennis court with covered viewing pavilion and bar. Adjacent to the tennis court is a fitness center with a treadmill, cross training machine, free weights, Cybex multi station equipment and a television. Cerulean can also provide a personal trainer for guest’s enjoyment, as well as a yoga instructor, tennis coach or water aerobic teacher.

 
The 40×25 foot freshwater pool overlooks the sea and is suitable for swimming laps as well as just floating. There is a shallow edge that runs around the perimeter of the pool, which provides an ideal play space for children. Surrounding the pool is a 3,000 square foot stone deck with plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas and tables for dining al fresco.

 
On a deck above pool level is a Jaccuzzi situated in the perfect spot to relax with a cocktail and watch the sunset over the sea. Just below the pool level is beautiful Barnes Bay with a wide sandy beach for sunbathing, walking or collecting shells. Right off shore is a coral reef for easy snorkeling, and for the more adventurous there are sea kayaks available at Cerulean.

An elegant and secluded two-bedroom luxury villa and one bedroom cottage set on one acre of lush tropical gardens and white sandy beach. Once you arrive, it is a paradise you will not want to, or need to, leave despite the many allures of Anguilla.

 
Mornings start here with that first cup of coffee as you watch the sun rise over the Caribbean Sea from our rooftop patio. Spend the rest of the day indulging yourself sunning in the privacy of your own sandy beach, interrupted only by the brown pelicans cruising above you. Or lounge with a good novel on the lawn.

 
Or snorkel the reef. Then cool down with a refreshing dip in the landscaped freshwater swimming pool among the coconut palms and hibiscus. Although the beach at L’Embellie is great for gazing, sunning, snorkeling and kayaking, it is not a good swimming beach because of the shallow coral bottom. By evening, sip a gin and tonic while you grill local crayfish, served on our back patio under the starlit Anguillian night sky, all before falling asleep to the cool Caribbean breezes on our luxury linen and bedding.

Bedroom and Bathroom Description:
Bedroom 1:
Bedroom 1, the only downstairs bedroom, features subtle hues with Scalamandre window treatments and stunning ocean views on three sides. The king mahogany bed with luxurious Sferra sheets and a 32″ HD flat screen television will ensure that you rest in complete comfort.
You can choose to shower indoors or outside under the stars in your private outdoor shower. Both the bedroom and bathroom are air-conditioned, but for those who prefer the ocean breeze, there are screens and a ceiling fan.

 
Bedroom 2:
Bedroom 2 is an upstairs master with beautiful green and white Lee Jofa fabric, spectacular views, including a breathtaking sunset view, a four poster king bed with Sferra sheets, and indoor and outdoor showers.
For your comfort, there is a flat screen television, air-conditioning in both the bedroom and bathroom, and screens and a ceiling fan for those who prefer the ocean breeze.

 
Bedroom 3:
Bedroom 3 can be configured with two twin beds or one king according to our guests’ preferences. With turquoise and white Lee Jofa fabric and beautiful Italian tile, the colors of the sea move from the lovely view into the ambience of the room.
For your comfort, there is a flat screen television, Sferra sheets, and air-conditioning in both the bedroom and the bathroom. There is also a ceiling fan and screens for those who prefer the natural air.

 
Bedroom 4:
Like Bedroom 3, Bedroom 4 can be configured with two twin beds or one king bed according to guests’ preferences. Clarence House coral and white fabric and handmade coral tile give this room a vibrant atmosphere. The ocean view is again spectacular, and Sferra sheets and a flat screen television add to your comfort.
The bedroom and bathroom both have air-conditioning, but you may choose to use the ceiling fan and screens to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze.

 
Bedroom 5:
Bedroom 5 is another upstairs master with stunning views, this one for the early riser who may want to enjoy the sunrise. Or you can draw your beautiful blue and white curtains and block out the early morning light. The king bed with Sferra linens and a flat screen television will add to your comfort.
There is an indoor as well as an outdoor private shower and both the bedroom and bathroom are air-conditioned with the option of screens and a ceiling fan for those who prefer the natural breeze.

The other seating area includes two more comfortable chairs with ottomans and a game table for cards or conversation.

Gym:
The Gym sits apart from the main house. You can exercise on the Octane elliptical or ride the True recumbent bike while enjoying the magnificent ocean view and lovely landscaped grounds in air-conditioned comfort. There are also yoga mats, free weights, and a body ball to enhance your workout. There is a thirty-six inch HD flat screen to watch television, or your favorite music can be played on the stereo. If you have an iPod, you can place it in the docking station. A full bath, comfortable futon and lounger and a massage table make this Gym complete.

 
Kitchen:
The kitchen is state of the art with a GE Profile five burner gas cook top, double ovens, microwave, dishwasher, spacious refrigerator and freezer, and a separate wine refrigerator.
The indoor bar is equipped with an ice maker and beverage center and leads to the dining room where one can enjoy spectacular sunset views. The custom dining table seats twelve. For more casual dining and to enjoy the ocean breeze, there is also an outdoor dining area, bar, and barbecue grilling kitchen with spectacular views.

The spectacular infinity edge pool is large enough for swimming laps but also offers the most stunning panoramic views on the property. In addition to the spacious patio area surrounding the pool with a beautiful terra cotta tile and river rock design, there is an outdoor living area comfortably furnished offering a flat screen television and an outdoor bar and dining area with a grilling kitchen where you can prepare and enjoy your freshly caught seafood. Finally there is a shaded terrace between the outdoor living and dining rooms that provides a shady retreat from the Caribbean sun. A large upstairs terrace and two private upstairs balconies offer the perfect setting for sunbathing or enjoying the sunset view in the evening
